Private violin lessons in Denver, Colorado for children, teens, and adults. Suzuki-informed instruction for beginner and advancing students.

I didn't begin violin until I was twelve, through a public school music program. Because I started later than many of my peers, I know firsthand what it feels like to be a beginner—to wonder if you're behind, to work hard, and to discover that growth comes through patience, encouragement, and steady practice. That experience continues to shape how I teach today.

I'm a Suzuki-trained violin teacher and performer offering private violin lessons in Denver, Colorado for children, teens, and adults. Over the past twenty years, I've taught in private studios, school programs, and community music organizations across the Denver area, helping students build strong technique, musical expression, confidence, and a lasting relationship with music. I earned my Master's degree in Violin Performance from the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music, where I also completed Suzuki pedagogy training.

I believe great teaching begins with the student, not the method. Every learner brings different interests, goals, strengths, and ways of processing new skills. Rather than expecting students to fit into one approach, I adapt lessons to the individual—balancing structure with creativity, supportive guidance with healthy challenge, and classical fundamentals with the music that inspires each person. Whether someone is just beginning violin, returning after years away, or continuing to grow as a musician, my goal is to create a learning environment where curiosity, confidence, and long-term progress can flourish.

Outside the studio, I continue to perform professionally from elopements, to concerts with the Steamboat Symphony and more. I also design accessible learning technology, combining my experience in music education and software to create tools that help people learn more effectively for clients such as the National Center on Education and the Economy. Both parts of my work are driven by the same belief: learning should feel thoughtful, engaging, and accessible, and every student deserves a teacher who meets them where they are.
